Hi,

I had similar problems with jitters (during AV sync problem occurred) with some tv series on the new firmware. It happened few times in each series and lasted for 4-5 seconds. I have tried playing them on a PC and playback was normal without any problems.
Series were as well 23.976.
Both rockchip codecs were enebled, the rest disabled.

I have similar problems with movies, which have a 2-channel FLAC as audio track.
The tone pitch of the audio is going up an down, the video runs ok.
Audio and video are running asynch then.

The same movie with the same audio track in AC3 or DTS (both 5.1) format plays ok.

Supplement:
In between I watched 3 more movies (all 3 are 23.976).
One played without any problem.
Two are always AV asynch after some minutes after PAUSE/PLAY.
At one of  them I notices after some minutes after PAUSE/PLAY that the video starts to "jitter/jerk" and the AV became asynch.
Finally I played both on my old media-player and both of them played without any problem.

I can confirm this.

Some of my 23.976fps-movies start playing absolutely in-sync, but after 30minutes, sometimes 1 hour
audio and video are async. The videos have  DTS-audio. To synchronize again I have to press pause and
then continue to play the movie.

This behaviour is independent if the files are played from the network or from a local disk.

When will this annoying bug be fixed which makes the H8 as mediaplayer unusable?

I use a SMB Share based on Windows 7 over a 500mbit Powerlan (gets <300mbit in real) connected: Windows PC > Gbit router > Powerlan > H8.
I got a Samsung Full HD TV.
I use the standard KODI 16.1 from google Play.

The standard hardwaredecoders are active - the rockendchip hacks are not avalable because it'S the official version of kodi.

smb uses tcp/ip only.

I have no Playback problems while watching mkvs vrom sd to 1080.
I only got a 2.0 Sound System so I Can't test the Audio Problems.

Have you tried to disable the rocketchip hacks and enable the others?
Are you sure that the network is ok? any configuration porblems maybe?
I would try a mkv directly over usb to make sure it's not the network.

Thank you owlhugin,

but it is an old, well known and from many users acknowledged bug.
It happens only if you use movies with the most popular frame-rate of 23.976 Hz and an AV receiver and pass-through is enabled for all supported audio formats in Kodi. (This is the standard use of all homecinema enthusiasts. For a direct connection to a stereo TV set I recommend to buy a much cheaper box.)

Himedia/Rockchip has to do something, the customers as Himedia Beta-Testers already spend a lot of their valuable leisure time to test a lot of possible configurations and movies because Himedia is not willing to recommend good settings for different needs or to make reasonable default setting in Custom-Kodi.
