Samba cannot be activated
« on: April 11, 2025, 10:55:03 AM »
OWF 2.1.7
internal SSD
an external SSD on the SATA/USB adapter

I had to completely restore everything from a backup.
With some problems this also worked.

Unfortunately, Samba can no longer be activated.
When I activate Samba in the settings, the check mark appears in the box,
Samba does not start and when I open the settings again, the tick is gone.
Regardless of whether I use the original smb.conf or my modified one.

There may be a connection with the following.
When the Himedia shuts down, it does not switch off completely.
If I remove the USB SSD, the Himedia switches off completely.
The USB SSD is displayed in the file manager with the comment <unknown-uuid>.
However, the uuid can be read out with blkid.

I can't solve this, help would be nice.

Why the Himedia does not shut down completely was only due to a defective SATA/USB adapter.
If the available memory does not match the shares in smb.conf, the device does not shut down completely.

The main problem remains unsolved.
Changing the rights and owner of the smb.conf does not help either.
