No, no one here at Futeko have claimed so, but Dune support has:
December 5 I sent this question to Dune support:
Hi, I consider to replace my HD Max with a new player. For HD Max it's stated in the description that it can "decode to LPCM (up to 7.1 channels)". When I read about new models LPCM is mentioned, but not how many channels. I remember that some of the older smaller models only were LPCM 2.0. So, what new models can decode Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio to LPCM 7.1 and send out on HDMI? Best regards, Erik Nystrom Sweden
The first reply said:
Hello,
We would like to recommend our new devices Pro 4K II and Pro 4K Plus II.
I replied:
Thanks for your reply! Yes, I’m considering one of these models, when they are available.
Will they decode Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio and send out on HDMI as LPCM 7.1?
Then I received this:
Hello,
Sorry for the late reply. Pro 4K II and Pro 4K Plus II can decode Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio and send out on HDMI as LPCM 7.1.
Pro 4K Plus II can be purchased from our online store dune-hd.com. Pro 4K II will go on sale in 1-2 weeks. Also, all of these devices will soon go on sale on Amazon.
I don't understand how this could be misunderstood. I don't know what different chipsets can do. I'm buying a complete product and I asked if it could do what I asked for.
@Nice Monkey
Yes, some BD-players can do that, and also the old Dune HD Max I intended to replace with something more modern.
My ATV 4K also sends out multi-channel PCM, but it can't play BD-menus and be integrated with My Movies like the Dune player.
