DUNE HD Pro Vision 4K Solo - Fan Operation

Hi all

New here and interested in getting the above (upgrading from an old Dune HD Solo Lite).

I just wanted to check, is the fan in the unit only required when using an internal drive?

I will most likely not be using an internal drive so was hoping to be able to switch the fan off to reduce noise but not sure if passive cooling alone is sufficient for this model.

Any player from Dune or Zidoo all have a metal case which is a adequate for cooling without a HDD being inserted. Very safe to turn it off.

I've not heard the fan on mine, other than to check how loud it was at 100%!

You can set it to 'Off' in the menu (Phone app and setup on actual device).
