I have a interesting problem. the basics, my cables are good, I run the Z9s by HDMI through a Denon
X3500 AVR. then HDMI output to Samsung HU 65 8550 4k 3D smart tv (4 yrs old).
I use an external Hard drive usb 3.0 with movies on it. avi, .ts, mkv, mp4, also regular dvd structured files and Bluray files or ISO's as well all PLAY FINE audio & video.
here's where the problem lies. put a 3D movie on the drive & play it - no video , audio is fine.
doesn't matter file format on 3D, could be an ISO or the regular BD folder same result. same result if you play a downloaded 3D side by side .mp4 file too.
now if I run the Z9s directly to tv (HDMI) the 3D video is there, no prob.
back to the original hook up, I put a HDMI 2 way splitter between the Denon AVR & the TV and then the 3D video miraculously appears.
then I hooked up a older HIMEDIA Q10pro media player in place of the Z9s (all other connections the same except removed the splitter) an the 3D video comes through the Denon & onto the tv.
then hooked up a LG 3d bluray player in place of the Z9s and the 3D video disc also played fine through the Denon to the tv with no splitter.
so in my conclusion so far is that there is something embedded on 3D movies & the Z9s plays it in such a way it causes the HDCP to go off between my Denon avr & TV therefore I lose the 3D video.
any ideas ? I did update the firmware form 2.32 to 2.35 obviously no difference from 2.32
I've tried to changed the HDMI RX setting from 1.4 to 2.0 on Z9s & that didn't help at all either. my tv is compatible with HDCP 2.2 copyright protection standard.
the one thing I have not done yet is a factory reset. a firmware upgrade yes.
