I've read in this forum that's not advisable.
Install official version 2.0.3 next 2.0.4 and finally the latest. This way you'll completely reinstall the firmware from scratch. Alow the box to boot after each install.

I think so. Have you tried to remove the hard drive to see what happens?

yes.
with HD inside
factory reset
restart - everything fine
power off / power on - date is 2015 january 1

without HD inside
factory reset
restart - everything fine
power off / power on - date is 2015 january 1 (doesn`t matter if I set time automaticaly or manual)

ok, but now its time to:
1. 2.0.3 FUTEKO. HMD-2.0.3 2017-04-12 /reboot
2. 2.0.4 FUTEKO. HMD-2.0.4 2017-07-05 /reboot
3. 2.1.4 FUTEKO. HMD-2.1.4 2019-05-31 /reboot

Tested:
1 HM connected to router
2 HM connected through cable from ISP
3 HM connected to local WiFi
4 HM connected to WiFi shared from phone

Still the same - date/time 1 January 2015 01:00

I don't have more ideas. Every time the box starts after being powered off the date and time resets, this is normal because it doesn't have a real time clock. After a while, sometimes seconds, other times about a minute the date and time are set automatically if it's configured that way.
I suggest you contact Himedia export@himedia.cn, explain the situation and all the tests you've done.

I also don't have any idea.

Can you access an NTP Server on Windows???

Run Control Panel: Click on Date & time > Internet Time > Change settings > Update now

Does it respond with "The clock was successfully synchronised ..."

If not, you router may be blocking NTP access. Check the settings of your router.

Are you using a VPN???

Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 51.105.208.173:

I don't think a device running android is going to connect to the Microsoft NTP server... and like you said, after you reinstall the firmware it works until the first restart.

I didn't say it would  >:( ! I said "Can you access an NTP Server on Windows???"

This was simply to test if the router was blocking NTP access!
