Retiring my Q10 Pro
« on: January 26, 2020, 01:25:47 PM »
Soon I will be retiring my Q10 Pro, I am thinking about replacing it with a Nvidia Shield Pro, Does anyone have any thoughts on why I should or should not do this, And or recommendations on a better option $200 or under ?

Thank you in advance !

Same here, I will go for the Nvidia Shield TV with a good support.

Nvidia Shield Pro is good when focusing on streaming services. If you are in HD Audio and BD/UHD playback get a Zidoo instead. The Z9S is great value for money.

If you are a pure KODI fan look for a Linux based variant. There are very powerful players like Vero 4K+  around for a bargain price (obviously as there is no firmware development costs on those).

Swapped my Q10 Pro for an Egreat A10 years ago. Was a good move back then, now a Dinobot or Ferguson Avero is a better alternative staying with that same Hisillicon chipset. Still doing somethings better than Zidoo (Seamless Branching and BD Menu).

Got my new 2019 Shield Pro, Loving it so far super fast and stable, However here are a few things I find strange with it.

Nvidia Is Retarded on this one, Shield has built in remote locator if you loose your remote, However there is no button on the box itself to activate it you have to use an app on your phone.

This is even more stupid. When you hit power on the remote it puts the shield to sleep, However if you use the menu button there is an option to shut down, Now get this !   If you power the box down there is no way to turn it back on as the remote is turned off, The only way is to pull the power plug and put it back in......

Here is a list of apps I am currently using on the Shield

ATV Launcher
Button Mapper
Es File Explorer Pro
LeanKey Keyboard Pro ( Works with air-mouse )
Mx Player
Nord VPN
Xfinity Stream Modded No HDMI Check
Split APK Installer
Synology DS Video
YouTube TV
Typhonn TV
Hulu
Morphix TV
Pluto TV
Tubi TV
Vidu
Direct TV ( Version for tablets )
Synology Drive
Synology DS Finder
Chrome
Zion TV

I was inspired by this thread to find out SHIELD TV Pro. It seems to have good features and upgraded directly by NVIDIA
