I have a Himedia Q30, and it plays almost everything.  The default media player app is very powerful.  There doesn't seem to be a way to adjust how the keys work, or map anything so that "skip forward" and "skip backward" are available (without any "user interface" coming up when they are pressed).

It's the one thing I'm missing.  Is this function present on any of the newer Himedia players, or in some other media player device (with 4K, relatively modern Audio codecs, etc.)?

I've not tested it, but this may work on Q30: https://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1259.0
