DTS:X
« on: December 11, 2015, 09:03:17 AM »
Hi,

has anyone tested DTS:X bitstream via Media Center?
My Q54K is with 3.0.2 firmware, but I didn't succeed to do that with my new Onkyo TX-NR646 (it is updated with the last firmware).

What do you mean with "waiting of 2016 AV receiver"?
My receiver has support.
I ask because, Dolby Atmos support has similar problem with previous software versions i.e. the player tries to do something when it bitstream the audio.
My old player has no problems with Atmos when it came on the market (Transformers: Age of Extinction) - it's software wasn't changed a year. It simply bitstream the audio and the older receiver say "Dolby TrueHD 7.1"

And that's why I was wondering that is it the same problem with DTS:X?

Only someone with DTS-X can response to your question.
My receiver from DTS-X or Auro clips receives DTS-Hd Master, from Atmos receives TrueHD.

Could you post a verbose mediainfo for one of your DTS:X files, please?

there are not yet DTS:X A/V receiver , only "ready for DTS:X", at start of next year manufacturer will release firmware enable this codec... maybe ... .

So now can not  be test DTS:X trace.

DTS:X  like Auro 3D it's normal DTS-HD trace plus metada informations for extra channel .

You mean that the hardware in the receivers is ready, but software update is not?

all manufacturer(denon , onkyo ecc ) had planed to release DTS:X support firmware from start of 2106 ,but there are a hardware bug with DAP (digital audio processor ) on A/V receiver ... it became very hot and unstable.

what means that?
All manufacturers use one processor to integrate in their receivers, seems very strange for me?
Or microcode / firmware which is used under license by DTS had the bug?
