Major bug when playing x265 encoded SBS 3D
« on: June 25, 2019, 12:05:44 AM »
When playing a 3D movie encoded in x265 HEVC it starts ok in 2D mode but when switching to 3D SBS from the wrapper the box crashes, freezing the video. Afterwards, attempting to play any other 3D content whether x264 or x265 gives a black screen. The box has to be turned to standby and restarted. I have tested this with 2.03, 2.04 and 2.14. It is only recently of course that x265 has increasingly become the norm for video encodes, and with TVs dropping 3D altogether this bug appears to have slipped through the net. x264 3D SBS and OU encodes still play ok. Frame packed isos are also ok.
