Date and time resetting
« on: December 02, 2015, 06:11:01 PM »
Have you ever experienced date reset after turning off and on the device? Mine, every time I turn it off, when I turn on set date to 1/1/70 1:00 and that's really annoying, since Internet and any Internet related app won't work with wrong date!
It's a new device, I received yesterday. Should I ask for a change with a new one??
I wrote something similar in the new firmware post, but I think this is not a software related problem.
Thanks a lot.

H8 requires internet to get correct time, so it will reset to the beginning of time (well, 1-JAN 2011) if you boot without internet access.

If you have internet enabled, H8 should always have correct time.

In Settings - More - Date & time the top option 'Automatic date & time' should be selected (slider to right and green). Does that fix it?

If not, what firmware is the box running?

Having read your post in the other thread, I think this will probably be fixed by doing a full reset button reinstall of our firmware.

I suspect the problem is caused by the firmware your reseller (I think not us - we install latest European firmware!) installed.
