HDMI issue or broken Himedia q10 pro
« on: May 08, 2019, 11:57:47 PM »
I have an issue with the player.
You can see the noice and glitching/interrupting screen at
https://youtu.be/hvTyOrzm94M
https://youtu.be/5CDWsC85CO4
It was with Custom firmware 2.0.7 for some months, I've installed the last one 2.1.1, but no change. It is related probably to some power or HDMI issue.
It starts since powering on and still during the login and the work after.
Could it the reason be a faulty power adapter? The original one went too hot and it is not working anymore.
I'm using the original Himedia HDMI cable, my TV is OK, tried with another cable and with another media player too.
The other unit on the same TV is OK.

Thank you, but it doesn't help.
You can see the issue is happening when start the unit and also during the work, so it is not connected with Himedia video player.
When I try through the HiControlandroidN app and with my smartphone there is absolutely no any issue, so it is definetely related to an HDMI issue.
Using another HDMI cable (probably it is 1.4 version) the result is blank screen, so the best "view" is with the Himedia original HDMI cable with the glitches/noice shown.

It looks like a physical HDMI problem. Either with the Q10 Pro, the cable, or the display device.

To narrow down possibilities I suggest changing the cable first, then if possible trying a different display device.
