THIS FIRMWARE IS FOR EUROPEAN Q10 4K3D (MANUFACTURED AFTER NOVEMBER 2014) ONLY. DO NOT TRY AND FLASH IT TO OTHER REGION Q10 4K3D OR ANY REGION Q5 4K3D.

Q10 4K3D. 17-JAN-2015. FIRMWARE HMD-1.0.7 FINAL FUTEKO-EN.

This firmware is pre-installed on all futeko.com Q10 3D4K after 17-JAN-2015.

Installation Instructions:

1. Extract update.zip to the root of a USB pen drive (so the USB pen drive should contain a single file named update.zip).
2. Insert the USB pen drive into any USB port of the Q10 4K3D.
3. With the Q10 4K3D turned off, use a paper clip or pen to press and hold the the pinhole restore button on the back of the Q10 4K3D.
4. While keeping the restore button pressed, turn on the Q10 4K3D.
5. Keep the restore button pressed until you see an Android droid logo.
6. Release the button and the firmware upgrade will proceed.
7. The box will auto-reboot when finished.

Changelog:

1. Fixed Google Browser/spotify music cannot install from Google Play Store (new version uploaded 28-JAN fixing this).
2. Fixed some add ons not work on XBMC/Kodi.
3. User can now install other launcher and set as default.
4. Fixed Youtube output sound, but no image.

Is the United States considered a EUROPEAN version? Are there just 2 versions of firmware. Chinese and European ? It's odd for us Americans because everybody else is considered European.

It's impossible for me to say whether your box is the European version or the Chinese version.

By 'European' version I mean the boxes sold by ourselves and other European resellers (myhdplayer.de) where stock has come direct from HiMedia.

The problem with any other Q10 4K3D are that it's difficult to say whether the retailer who sold it to you has bought the 'European' version direct from HiMedia or the Chinese version on the grey market. Best bet is to ask them..

Thank you for the reply Futeko. My next purchase will definitely be through you. I didn't know about your company when I purchased this one. I bought it from Aliexpress on a whim just because I liked the specs on the Q10 4K3d. It's a great little unit and I will get another for the bedroom once I find out how durable it is. It does everything so far that I need it to. I know the Q5 had some problems out the gate but the new Q10 seems to not have any issues so far.

Same issue as on Q5. Spotify is not compatible in the market and even installed from an apk, it doesn't work, stops as soon as you open it.

Hello,
Latest Version of Hicontrol does not work fine on Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The image is scrambled  on my phone. On my old Galaxy Note 2 the image is ok. Any Ideas? Maybe a new app will solve the problem. Thank you!

Just got Q10 quad with 1.0.7. EN.  The are no HOME, BACK, RECENT button on the screen and this not convenient. Also STATUS and NOTIFICATION bars are absent. Is there any patch to fix this?

Home and back can be accessed using buttons on the remote. The Android status and notification bars are missing intentionally, this is how the HiMedia launcher is designed. It's a simple launcher, which I think a lot of people do prefer. A quick fix is to install an alternative launcher. There are loads available in Play Store. E.g. Nova: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher&hl=en The Nova launcher is very customisable.

HiMedia are working on a new launcher (it will be in a future firmware) and we have asked them to incorporate access to the default Android status bar and better navigation (e.g back button) using a pointing device rather than the remote.

Hello...for a certain reason, the Media center plays the videos as files (No access to the DVD menu) just a list of chapters that are played individually. And then I Installed Google Music Play and Player pro and I can't access the root directories to scan my Media....is there any way around that?

What format is the DVD image? If all else fails install Kodi and use that for DVDs.

Google Play can't find your media because it is set up to only scan the /sdcard directory. It's like this because it's designed for phones (and perhaps because Google doesn't want to support local media playback in favour of it's own download/streaming service) and there is no way to change it.

On the Q5/Q10/M3 local storage is at /storage/emulated/0, sdcard at /mnt/mmc, SATA at /mnt/sda/sda1 and USB storage at /mnt/sda/sda2 etc.

All the other music player apps I've tested either scan the whole file system or allow you to specify directories. Some worth trying:

Some are Video_TS most are iso....the original menu never shows up. I had the Chinese version of the Q10 II and it worked beautifully, Play even recognized the external hdd. I gave the Chinese version out and got this international version and this is when my issues started...DO you think flashing your Own FW will help in my case....I am also on 107 but i am not certain of whether it is the same FW. do we need to extract the FW on the website?
