FTP Help
« on: January 02, 2019, 07:25:14 PM »
Hey Guys

i'm just trying to configure FileZilla to the X20, i can connect locally not using a password but using anonymous, i'm not sure what the password is as i have tried User -  admin/ password - admin, it wont connect with them, i have looked in the menu on the X20 but don't seem to see where i could set or change a password.

I want to be able to connect via FTP externally and not just locally, is there also a specific port it uses or can this be changed in the x20

The x20 is running Firmware 2.1.22 beta

Hope someone can point me in the right direction

Thanks
woto

The FTP server on X20 (and X20 Pro/Z9S/Z10) is an OpenWRT app, so control is via the OpenWRT web interface. It is highly configurable.

* Access OpenWRT for Samba/NFS/Aria2/Transmission server? Find the IP address of your Z9S/Z10/X20/X20 Pro on your local network. Home screen - About. (e.g. 192.168.0.33) and access that IP address on a web browser connected to same network (e.g. 192.168.0.33). The default password is a blank space (highly recommended to change it on first use!).

I'm not a expert on openwrt, but the server is vsftp and more advanced configuration is done by changing config files. There is some info about adding users (and changing password) here: https://mihail.stoynov.com/2014/11/22/openwrt-ftp-installation-and-configuration-vsftpd/

Hi

Thanks for the info, got it all up and running.

I was just wondering if the port can be changed from 21 as this is the standard port and i use that port for my Qnap Nas
