Can the new statusbar be turned off permanently?
« on: November 18, 2015, 08:11:29 AM »
Hell-O, Futeko-Team!

I have just updated my M3 on the latest 3.0.2-Firmware and I really enjoy the new features like "subtitles globally off" or "red LED in Standby off".

Nevertheless, Himedia implemented a new "feature", which really annoys me: The status bar, which appears on the bottom of the screen when the cursor comes near.

The background: I am using Nova Launcher and have lots of my app-icons in the very bottom line. Since this popping up of the new status bar, it is nearly impossible to hit the icons there, for they move up, when the cursor is near and down again when I try to hit them in the row above (difficult to explain, I am not a native speaker).

Is there any way to turn this "feature" off permanently?

Thanks a lot and best regards
Stefan

At the moment the pop up status bar can't be disabled.

I am compiling a list of things to be fixed/added from 3.0.2 firmware for Himedia and this will be one of them. I don't think Himedia appreciated that people would use other launchers which require access to the very bottom of the screen.

Hi,

the problem could be solved easily by editing the build.prop-file (root required). Worked without problems and now I got rid of the statusbar.

The line that has to be added is
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0

Thanks for your answer...:-)

Good fix. An option in settings will be added in the next firmware.
