It depends on what exactly your TV supports. What model number is it? Make sure deep colour / enhanced mode is turned on in your TV settings.

Maximum video mode: 4K 2160p / 60Hz.

Additional settings:

Maximum HDMI color depth: Auto
Preferred HDMI color depth: Maximum
SDR/HDR conversion: Auto
Chroma subsampling for 4Kp50/60 8-bit: 4:4:4
Chroma subsampling for 4Kp50/60 12-bit: 4:2:2
Chroma subsampling for 4Kp24..30 12-bit: 4:2:2
Chroma subsampling for non-4K 12-bit: 4:4:4

In general, 4:4:4 > 4:2:2 > 4:2:0. Limitations are the HDMI 2.0a bandwidth limit of ~ 20Gbps and what your TV hardware is capable of.

Checked these settings on my device.
Do not work with HEVC UND files - 1 sec play, black screen, freeze...

Best settings will depend on your TV/projector and HDMI cables.

Try changing the 12-bit settings to:

Chroma subsampling for 4Kp50/60 12-bit: 4:2:0
Chroma subsampling for 4Kp24..30 12-bit: 4:2:0

This is inferior but requires less HDMI bandwidth and will be more compatible.

My TV is Sony KD-XE8096 which has in its specs:
"Panel bit depth: 10 bits (8 bits + FRC)". What are correct Dune video settings for this panel?
My HDMI cable is that I got in my Dune's box when bought it.

First enable 'enhanced format' on the HDMI port the Dune is connected to. As here: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00141961

Then try the settings I gave initially (http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=3616.msg25211#msg25211). I think they should work with your TV. If they don't then change the 12-bit settings to 4:2:0. That should definitely work.

If not then, if possible, try another HDMI cable. There have been some reports of the cable Dune supply not being the best and having problems at high bandwidth.

Tried the former yesterday - no result. Will try the latter tonight when back home.
Checked my TV on your links - yes, my TV does support HDR.
If not then, if possible, try another HDMI cable. There have been some reports of the cable Dune supply not being the best and having problems at high bandwidth.
That's the last thing I'd like to do - spending another $1oo for 1 more cable... But will have too as the last attempt...
Thanks for your replies.

Tried it yesterday night. No change - the same freeze... >:(
Apart from buying a new cable, what should / could I do?
Wait for upcoming August firmware update (which they say MAY fix this bug)?
Do you know when the udpade will be released?

Have a read through here, possibly related: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=3580.0

It's definitely worth changing the cable.

This fix has worked for us on boxes reported as not playing HEVC: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=3605.msg25116#msg25116

I don't have a date for next firmware from Dune.

Yes it very much depends on Television. I have 2 Dune HD 4k Pro boxes and one of them is connected to a Panasonic TX-65AX802B this TV would not work with box initially as the Maximum HDMI colour Depth was Set to Auto EIDE. The Dune box would only work if it was set on 8 Bit or 12 Bit but not 10 bit just a dark Screen. My advice to anybody setting up a dune with a amplifier or TV is use the mode button and a number btween 1 and 5 on the keypad to enable a low rate Video mode say 720 or 1080p and then work your way up to 4k. Just for example the Pansonic would not working on any setting higher than 4k @ 30hz

be sure your tv supports 60 hz.. if not set dune for 4k 30 hz..
if u r not sure about your tv, then try to find its hdmi-in compability.. it must be hdmi 2.a to play 50-60 hz
all versions of hdmi 1.4 support 30 hz as far as i know
