Ethernet network card broken ?
« on: August 04, 2018, 06:13:13 PM »
I can't make the Ethernet to wok on my Q10 Pro. It says cable not connected. I tested the cable with a laptop, and the cable is good.
Any suggestions ?

If it's a crossed cable it may work in the laptop and not on the Q10. What's the category of the cable? Have you tried with another one?

It's standard B configuration. And yes I tried with two different cables.

When you connect the cable what happens with the led in the Q10 port? Is the port on the laptop gigabit Ethernet?

Nothing happens with the led. The laptop has 10/100 Ethernet.

I had similar issues with my network cable.

It would only work occasionally. I could generally get it to work by only half pushing the network cable in (if that makes sense)

In any case, my ethernet port was faulty, (it could only connect at 100Mbps and not the 1Gbps). I contacted the vendor and swapped the unit for a new one.

New unit works fine and now connects at 1Gbps.

If your unit is not connecting i would say you have a faulty unit. Wifi is good for 1080p stuff, but wont have enough bandwidth for 4k material.

Cheers

Try connecting the laptop to the Q10 and see if there's any changes in the leds of both ports

Good suggestions. When I connect it to the laptop, the led indicator changes. But still the DHCP can't get the IP. But that might be because of the laptop network configuration.

Did it ever worked?
10/100 Ethernet uses only 2 pairs of the cable and gigabit uses the 4 pairs. If the Q10 is trying a gigabit connection with an faulty or incapable cable it won't work, yet the same cable might work with 100mbps.

Hi, I've other problem that related to the Ethernet port recently after I upgraded ISP speed from 100Mbps to 500Mbps (down&up).
I manually turn off WiFi and make sure it fully run on my Ethernet port, then run speed test but only can get around 200Mbps (download) & 350Mbps (upload), very weird because my laptop can easily get 500Mbps for down&up.

In order to get full speed on my Q10 Pro, I need to do following thing:
without switch off Q10 Pro, I try to unplug the network cable from Q10 Pro and plug-in back again, without do other thing, with same speed test method, then I can get 500Mbps  :-[  But I need to do this every time I turn ON Q10 Pro which is not make sense  :'(
I reboot Q10 Pro and retry again and again, the only way to get full speed is unplug the network port and plug-in again only can get full speed  :(
Is there something on my Ethernet chip itself or something bug? By replaced with other network cable still no help  :-X
I really hope someone or futeko can help me on this.
This issue already happen to me since 2 months ago  :o

Other info:
Speed test with: http://www.speedtest.net/
Wifi : Off
Ethernet cable: Cat 6
Router: 1Gbps port
Test with 1Gbps laptop, easily get 500Mbps.

Q10 Pro Info:
Firmware: v2.0.8
Android: v7.0
Kernel Version: 3.18.24
