Cannot see Hard Drive on BluRay player when trying to stream

I have enabled Samba Share on my Q10 box but for some reason it will not show the Hard Drive (sda1) with my movies on my Sony BluRay player which is also connected on the same network with Wifi as well. It only shows the internal flash storage "sdcard1" instead. ** It does however show the hard drive on the Windows 7 PC only **

How do I get it to show the actual hard drive that I installed on the Blu Ray player? Thanks.

usually BluRay player read share drive only with DNLA not samba/smb like windows.

The Q5/Q10 internal DLNA server will only share the Q5/Q10 internal storage (under /sdcard).

To get around this install Pixel Media Server from Play Store (it's free). This will let you choose what is shared by DLNA.

Hi again, well I tried that program and then even tried in Kodi but even then with both programs, it will not show the internal hard drive contents on the blu ray player It just says "No playable content found" on the bluray player although I can see the drive "sda" and that's as far as it goes!

I have Samba share enabled and the hard drive with my movies is in NTFS format. Is there something I am doing wrong?

It could be that the Sony Blu-Ray player is blocking access.

What sort of files are they?

Sony will have various copyright protection software built into their products..
