If are still anyone brave to use Kodi 18 with HiMedia FW v.2.1.1 and Wrapper kodi(18.1[RC1])-20190207-fee37715-master-armeabi-v7a look like not suffering of crashing when is use with Wrapper?

Sorry pcristi but it still does not work. I've been installing the nightly builds every day since the disastrous 18.0 was officially released, in the hope that they may have found a solution ... but they haven't.
The crashing only happens with certain videos. Others have no problems at all. I'm trying to make a list of which videos and see if there is a pattern (codec/resolution/fps/...) with the videos which crash Kodi, but it's taking time! I'll let you know.

Agree official release version Kodi 18.0 is a disaster event for Nvidia Shield TV box.
Currently nightly builds fix some o problems, but still not stable.
Thanks for feedback and I'm happy to see are still user giving a try of Kodi 18.x.

Just downloaded and installed this afternoon's latest 18.1 build but still NO improvement!

There is no logic, the crashes are totally random, sometimes a video works but try it later and it crashes. (Using Wrapper and Blu-Ray patch).

Another thing, I can't get rid of subtitles ... they always appear on screen. If I switch them off, when I start the video again they are back. On Kodi 17.5 the settings for each video were saved. Not with 18???

No problems with Kodi 18 (64bit) on my Samsung Galaxy Tab though!!!

WHY do Kodi devs feel compelled to release a new version, when is is obviously soooo flawed with bugs, according to reports?
Maybe the coders are ex M$ employees??? You know, invent new unwanted, unnecessary features, remove tried and proven features and don't fix anything.  ;D ::)

Just guessing, but maybe the way the Wrapper modifies the playercorefactory.xml is not that suitable for KODI 18.x anymore? And maybe there's a more compatible way it should be done?

My other -and more likely- presumption is that it has something to do with the frequency switching, as most of my crashes happened during or a slight after starting or stopping the playback (with the Wrapper).  :???

For EVERYONE having problems with Kodi 18 crashing all the time, KODI 18 BETA 4 is for me THE ONLY version of KODI who does NOT CRASH !!!

It works PERFECTLY with the WRAPPER without crashing and giving that F....ing message KODI HAS STOPPED !

SO untill they FIX that problem all versions of KODI 18 are crashing but oly BETA 4 works fine with the WRAPPER !

HereIsTom: If it also reboots the Box, you may have other problems too with the system. Read a lot about KODI crashing, but none of them mentioned rebooting.

I have been bothered by it since I installed the new firmware with Kodi, never having problems with that before.

Kodi 18.2 RC1 just installed on its own.
Checking if it's better than before.

New CFW+new KODI, they might be related to cause the reboots.  No reboots for me on newest OFW.

No luck for me, it keeps on crashing. Not sure what's the current status on other platforms (Win/Linux) with external players, but I have a slight strange feeling that KODI Team doing this for purpose. At least in that they don't begin to fix it.  Hope I'm not right anyway...

Interesting remarks I will look on that.

LE: Still crash clean OFW 2.1.1 + OpenBlurayMode + Wrapper + Kodi 18.1 (18010004) from Google Play.
From Kodi log ERROR: eglSwapBuffers failed (EGL_BAD_NATIVE_WINDOW)   :(.
A good thing is after more than a year IR remote and joystick controller problem is was solved  ;).

LE2: I think when BD menu is set to ask is cause Kodi 18.x crash some others need check.
