We'll use this thread to post latest info about PCG03.
The Mele PCG03 will be one of the first Intel Bay Trail Z3735F mini-HTPCs. It will ship with Windows 8.1 Bing pre-installed.
Latest info from Mele is that we'll have stock in the UK around 15th January.
The advantages of a Intel mini-HTPC like the PCG03 are that, because it's a fully blown PC, it can run any PC OS (Ubuntu, Kodibuntu, Windows, OpenElec etc) and that it can run all apps available for that OS.
Many media apps are still more developed and perform better in their Windows versions, for example BBC iPlayer and Netflix are HD in Windows but SD in Android.
The selection of apps and games is much wider for Windows than for Android.
The PCG03 can be used to run MS Office and most PC games.
Basically, a mini-HTPC is more versatile.
Another advantage is that there will be less / no need for updates from the manufacturer because it will receive security and OS updates from Microsoft.
Disadvantages of the PCG03 (and other Bay Trail products) compared to the Android boxes we sell are that it has only 10/100 networking and no 7.1 audio.
