HD 900B wifi settings
« on: November 03, 2015, 12:11:04 PM »
Hello Futeko,

I bought this media player years ago and I never managed to stream through wifi.
I bought it for its wifi ability but after years i still move movies through usb :(
I connected it with my Wlan through settings, I also set the network group, I press to enter file mode and it ask me login network name and pass

whatever i set in these boxes it tells me Login Error (windows login and pass, router pass, network name group all nothing)
I have opened everything i could found on windows and on the router, services, ports, closed firewalls etc

I used all versions, currently  1.0.5.7

ANY ANY, help or advice would be acceptable and would be thankful (you free to use also teamviewer)

We don't have a 900B to test with, but it sounds like the problem is with how the network share is set up.

What version of Windows do you have on the PC you want to stream files from?

The 900B is asking you for the password of the network share. What this is, and how to disable asking for a password (the better option on a home network) will depend largely on the Windows version. Windows is notoriously complicated to set up for file sharing..

(I think the model is 910B not the 900B)

am on windows 7, i have the following settings:

40bit or 128 encryption   -->128
photos, videos, documents --> all checked
password needed -->  No
Printers and others --> Allowed
Network finder --> Yes, so it can be found
Enable public folders -->yes
Sharing --> ON
Network controlled by windows  or by login user passwords  --> I set the login from user passwords
use of protection password sharing --> Disabled

Windows asked me for a network password   I set one, but the media player asks a login name with the password (it need the network password or the login to windows? )
