Why not?, of course formatted!, android  can't format hard drives or SSD's drives, only with sat connector, m.2 no as i know!

Yeah SSDs will work.

Kind of overkill for a media drive though. Even the slowest 5400RPM conventional hard disks provide fast enough data transfer speed for media.

Increases mind not because of media files, but because of Android apk.
The main reason for IPTV over AceStream.
Because data transfer speeds do not know what is better HDD or SSD?
