SPMC and Egreat A5

I've installed SPMC to try and get away from the terrible built in Jukebox and Vidon, but I've now realised that I have lost the ability to passthrough HD audio codecs.

Question is, is there a way to get HD audio passthrough on SPMC or if not, is it possible  for SPMC to call the built in player so I'll get audio passthrough that way?

HD-Audio passthrough with SPMC (or any vanilla Kodi) is 5.1 channel max on Egreat A11/A10/A8/A5.

Only the pre-installed VidonXBMC has full HD-Audio (inc 7.1 channel) passthrough.

Wow, ok - is that something you think will change in time or is it unlikely?

Or is it possible to us SPMC as a wrapper for the native player as you can with Himedia?
