Q5/q10 pro atmos/dts:x downmix

Hi all
I was just wondering if both these players can decode atmos audio in a file (let's say iso or mkv) so as to downmix it to simole 5.1 output.
Everywhere I ve searched till now, it says that yes it can be set as passthrough to a compatible receiver which is not my case. I just want the 5.1 output to the spdif or the hdmi so as to have it forwarded directly to my z5500 optical input or to my hdmi tv so as to get it from tv's optical input as a signal.
And please, don't start to say why I want to ruin an atmos stream, because I don't have a compatible receiver or speakers for now:)

P.s. Till now I was completely satisfied with my Himedia HD900a using it with my 1080 3d samsung tv, I still am, but I also bought a new 4k tv and upgraded my internet connecrion, so I ll try to do the same with 4k content now.

As I don't have (any) AVR I can't know for sure, others with experiences can give you the answer (but it has a HBR 5.1 "downgrade"option in the settings).

Other than, that most of the video sources with 7.1 HD audio also have the "core" or the "side" 5.1 DD or DTS audio track embedded. So downgrading the Atmos to 5.1 instead seems rather an unnecessary solution.

Q10 Pro cannot downmix ATMOS to 5.1 channel, it needs a separate 5.1 audio channel (as you'd always find in a 1:1 ISO rip).

So it cannot decode it, so unless the iso ripped file will have a seperate dolby digital or dts 5.1 audio stream, I won't be able to listen to anything, right?

So I can do it, sorry I haven't read yours first! So you are listening to Atmos files correctly through your tv speakers downgraded to 5.1 so tv can decode it ok, right?

No I always use the 5.1 DD or DTS track decoded by the Q10 Pro's DAC to 2.0 analogue. I've just guessed as it has this "downgrade" option in the menu, that it could work in the case of HDMI or SPDIF passthrough.

All Blu-ray Atmos & DTS-X tracks also contain AC3 and DTS core audio tracks as noted.   
As long as your video "rip" still has all the original tracks, use the remote to select a different audio track until you hear something from your TV speakers?
