USB 3TB Interchange with WDTV

I have A WDTV Live and 2 TB WD USB Drives. I can and do Transfer Data from my Windows PC. The disks are formatted IN NTFS.
My Question are>

1-Can I Play the Movies stored there in the HiMedia Q5 4K3D.
2-If Not the HiMedia Q5 4K3D will destroy the contents of the disk, or simply ignore them?
3-Must the disks be formatted by Android?

1. Yes.
2. The Q5 will play the contents of the drive, it won't destroy anything.
3. No. Format can be FAT32, EXT2/3, NTFS formatted by any device.
