Custom smb.conf with own share
« on: March 08, 2018, 09:55:18 AM »
Hello guys,

I'm using a Q10 Pro with current firmware (2.07, 12.01.2018) and would like to customize the smb.conf with my own share.

I've added the following configuration to the smb.conf:

Code: [Select]
[store]
hide dot files = yes
hide files = /.*/lost+found/
available = yes
browseable = yes
create mask = 0777
directory mask = 0777
path = /mnt/media_rw/sda4
writable = yes
valid users = radio
guest ok = no
force user = root

After a reboot I can see the additional share, but when I access it, I'll get the content from the /mnt directory, but not the subdirectory I've configured.
Am I missing something?

path is not valid when samba server start.

BTW for me is not logic why to define new store share with path = /mnt/media_rw/sda4, if you want direct access for sda4 from windows can use map drive to \\<HiMedia_box>\share\mnt\media_rw\sda4

The box is root'ed and the path is valid.

And mapping the drive like you mentioned is not possible.
Windows expects a share to mount, not a directory.

Nevermind ... I'm to dumb to map it correctly :-)
Works now! Thanks.

@xenon
Good you get working for fit your needs.

BTW Map drive with directory is supported start with Windows XP SP1.
