Thanks futeko!

Yesterday I received my Himedia Q5 and made the first tests.

First I tested and configured as I had read. I loved how fast it moves.

I installed the wrapper to run ISO 3D.

I saw that version was better and updated playstore Kodi 15.2 RC.
Do I have to reinstall the wrapper?

Then I had my first problem:
I installed it on my Nexus 5 with Android 5.1.1 the HandsetForMultiScreen 2705 for Android 5+ but does not work me. In autoscan does not find anything, I put the IP and also finds (error: It can not access the IP host!).

I tried it on my tablet LG G Pad with Android 4.4 but I do not run any version of Hicontrol. Same mistake as my Nexus 5..

The second problem is not how to connect the Q5, in my file browser no detects network / samba of Q5.
Is samba activated in the firmware?
Any application to work must be installed?
Should we set in the system settings?

And we are on the third problem!
I installed my favorite skin: Aeon Nox xbmcmania. More information right here:
http://www.xbmcmania.com/index.php?topic=1816.0

It is simply a modified version of Aeon Nox, which already has all the necessary addons to run, to install everything is installed and you just have to configure it to your liking.
After installing the active and functioning properly. Good flow. I'm a happy person!

The problem comes when I leave Kodi (Turn it off) and launch again. Kodi 15.2  logo is loaded and when the menu is to appear Kodi screen remains blank. The menu is there!, because if I move right or left hear the click of the change of status, but can not see anything, the screen is black. :-\

Any help is welcome !!

All devices need to be on the same network.

There is a thread here with a similar problem in which it was solved by setting both the Q5/Q10 and phone to English language. For some reason Hicontrol wanted both devices to be set to English. If this fixes it then this is a live bug and will be reported (again) to Himedia.

Samba needs to be turned on in Settings - More - SAMBA Service

Not sure on this one, it sounds most likely to be a problem with the skin. I'd try installing a different skin or installing Kodi 16 to see if it's been fixed.

Yesterday I was testing and this is what I got:

- First problem: solved!
I simply connected with another IP and it worked. I can now use the app !!

- Second problem: not solved.
I enabled Samba, the file browser that I use to connect (Solid Explorer for android),  detects the IP of Q5 but does not connect.

I tried with user (Administrator) and with password and without password. But I get no access / connect to Himedia Q5.

Am I doing something wrong?

Is there any other method? Any application that can install?

- Third problem: not solved
I installed several skins and all worked without problem. But the skin I want  still giving me the same problem. I think it is due to start it with a conflict of animation there before leaving the menu.
I have an idea how to fix it, but I need to access the file advancedsettings, so need to fix the second problem!

Thanks for yous replies!

For Samba, how far do you get when browsing for the Q5?

You should see a computer called 'ANDROID_4B32'. The second part may be different.

There then should be a share called 'share', under which you can access the Q5 filesystem.

How far do you get through that?

Screengrabs are from Linux Mint.

Hi,

I see a computer called 'ANDROID_4B32'.

But when trying to enter (double click) gives me connection error.

I do not get to the second screen.

Just tested it here with a Galaxy S3 running Android 5.1 and ES File Explorer.

No problems accessing the share. Go network - LAN - enter IP - share directory visible and can be navigated.

Does ES File Explorer work for you?

I tried testing Solid Explorer but I think the free version is local storage only? Couldn't see any way to access a network.

All solved!!!!

I've done nothing but try today with the same connection that was wrong yesterday, today work without problem!

I have also solved the problem with the skin Aeon Nox of xbmcmania, there was a problem with the initial video that was loaded at startup. I have deleted it from the file browser and now works perfectly !!

Futeko thank you very much !!

I keep trying things (and asking)
