Hello!

I'm on OFW 2.0.6, using KODI with Wrapper for Playback and have this issue with the disappearance of the complete HiMedia Player GUI during a video has been paused like 15 minutes long.

To be more specific: I start a video, watch it like (whatever) 15 minutes, pause it, leave it intact for like (approx) 15 minutes, than I come back and when I try to press something on the (stock) remote, it doesn't react to anything that used to bring up the HiMedia Player GUI. That means no blue seek bar, no playback buttons, no media info, and even pressing the Menu button doesn't bring up anything. I can still start and pause the video with the OK button however (still no GUI pop-up), and quit playback with the back button, but nothing more.

When the intact time during the pause period is less than approx 15 minutes,  the GUI is still there and operates as expected.

Very annoying issue and newer happened on any previous firmware I've tried (1.0.5, 1.0.9).

Please report it to HIMedia, thank you!

So it happened again. :( But this time I didn't even paused the video. I just started to watch the video and right after, when I have tried to press any button related to the HiMedia Player control it didn't reacted at all.  Only the "Back" button worked to exit the playback. Right after I've started again the same video the player GUI was functional again.  :???

So a strange thing -that might be related- just happened again.
I'm still on 2.0.6. I've played a 33Mbit/s mkv/AVC video for like 40 minutes (using the HiMedia Player with the Wrapper), than Paused the playback and went to a 5 min break. When I came back and started the video again, it just quit to the KODI GUI wit the system pop-up message on the front: "Video Player App stopped" (or similar), but i could still hear the videos audio playing undiminished.  I've had no other chance, juts to push the "Back" button, and it did close the video entirely. Restarted the playback and all was fine again till the end of the video (although I didn't paused it again this time).

I guess the question is, has it always done this? Or is it something that has just started to happen!

If it is something recent, I would be looking at any changes you have made to the box.

I remember when I first got my box and installed Firefox on it, never thought for one moment that it would have caused an issue with the wrapper; but it did. I think the issue was the first time I played a video, I would have to start the wrapper twice. Uninstalling Firefox fixed the problem.

What about if you use the Mediaplayer directly (not in Kodi). Does it still happen?

It's not predictable when it will happen, so it would be hard to directly reproduce it. I have made nothing more before, than installed an little app (from PS), which doesn't seems to be related at all with the issue.

My suspicion is that it has something to do with the network share access and/or speed on my LAN. This was an unusually high bitrate video compared to my usual practice, which mots of the time maxes out at 15Mbit/s average bitrate. And when I resumed the video there was even a slight few-sec stutter in the picture, which also indicates network speed and / or caching insufficiency. Not so sure tho', but this is what I could conclude from the signs, that it may was a bit too much in bandwidth for my Windows PC or for the Q10 Pro (maybe it was improperly cached in the players memory, or/and the Player app just did somehow loose and drop the network connection during it was on idle). Or just in general, that if it never did happen with considerably lower bitrates before (many-many videos played well previously), that it must have something related to this.

Will do a test however soon, with another high-bitrate video, will watch it till the end and directly pause a few times and see than what will happen... (I hope nothing.)
