As far as I know the Imprex  doesn't even operate when in HDR mode (correct me if I'm wrong).  However, switch the output to SDR mode in the Settings->More menu and than you can turn off the Imprex engine during a video playback, and you can than switch back to HDR.

It's not really a contribution to this topic, more of a statement, but I'll stick to 2.0.6 for a while.

Apparently the interns working at HiMedia firmware department unfixed fixes and introduced new bugs.

Coming from an Xtreamer Prodigy with extremely crappy firmware, these Q10 firmware updates bring back a lot of unpleasant memories.

After upgrading from 2.0.6 to 2.0.7 I can't play anymore most of my .avi files with Himedia Player... (codec XVID, DX50)

Kodi is playing fine, though.

The problem is I just change the name to update.zip. Actually already have in zip file.  Zip in zip.  😅

I was just referring to futeko's FAQ's

"Download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/y1qhes2nd0nc9xz/Q10_PRO_FIRMWARE._ANDROID_7_v2.0.4%2B_TO_v2.0.7._FUTEKO._HMD-2.0.7_2018-01-12.zip

1. Extract update.zip (using an unzip program like 7zip, winzip etc) from the downloaded zip archive to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB pen drive. (the USB pen drive should contain a single file called 'update.zip'). Note, there is no need to rename anything!"

which probably need updating??

Just 5 seconds on the forum reading about subtitles and avi files. For me personally it's enough to know 2.0.7 is not an improvement.

Obviously I have/t tried out the 2.0.7 myself, but I do get the distinct impression from, indeed, these Chinese Whispers that we're better off to wait for another update.

Hi,

What about auto frame rate patches, will I have to add them for Kodi Player and HImedia player?

For auto framerate switching in Kodi you need the Kodi patch. http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1015.0

For most auto framerate switching in Himediaplayer / wrapper you don't need a patch. You only need it if you need the extra switching. See thread for more info: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1043.0

OK I'll give it a try. Do I need to reboot before reinstalling english, or just delete and reinstall right away?

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Media Center LAN issue has been fixed.  I know I'm not the only one with the issue (there has been others complaining about it on the original firmware thread).  When using Media Center I can get it to scan for networks and find them.  I can even choose the one where my network drive/directories are, and select the director.  Right after that, it gives the "Network State" error and creates a useless shortcut.  When trying to manually add a link to the network drive I either get a LAN has failed error, taking me back to the home screen, or the box freezes and I have to pull the plug in the back and hard restart.
Are you using Samba or NFS?  Can a PC on your network see the Q10?  Have you allocated a fixed IP address to the Q10?  Do you have a firewall/anti-virus software on your network that may be restricting access?

I have upgraded to 2.0.7 and Samba is still working fine for me with all network drives (including Thecus & QNAP NAS's, Seagate Centrals and WD Cloud).

In the 1.0.X firmware this was never an issue.  I don't use Samba or NFS...I simply want to access a WD MyBook drive directly attached to my router.  Windows finds it fine, and even the HiMedia box can find it...it just won't access it or effectively create a shortcut.  It isn't password protected either.  It also doesn't work only on HiMedia Media Center.  I've had to install ES File Explorer and it finds and can access it just fine...that is what I've been using.  However, the convenience of using Hi Media Media Center is that it is remote friendly.  File Managers require that I pull out my Rii or other Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad to effectively navigate.  No firewall or antivirus enabled on the router that would limit access.  Also, my PC can see the Hi Media player when the player is turned on.  I'm not the only one who has had this issue either.  I was hoping enough people were getting the error that it would get passed on.  It only started when transitioning to the 2.0.X firmware.

Do you have spaces in the paths or the names of the shared folders?

On Firmware 1.xx, it's OK to have "/share/Movies 1" with a space between the word "Movies" and the number "1." But on Firmware 2.xx, it isn't. It has to be "Movies1" or Movies_1."

I found this out the hard way, after much hair pulling and teeth grinding. Renaming all network shares did the trick.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip.  I do have a space between two-word shared directory name.  When I get a chance I'll have to try your tip and see if it fixes it.  In my opinion HiMedia should take a look at this...should be an easy fix to allow spaces in network drive/directory names.
