Just thought I'd introduce myself as a new member of the forum. Ordered the Egreat a10 + remotes bundle yesterday from futeko. They're going to replace Qnap's nas facility known as HybridDesk Station and its remote. HDS is in my experience totally unreliable, and so is the remote. This HDS-based system replaced before Christmas my Minix NEO U1, which worked perfectly for the first 18 months, but then started to play up in the picture department. There's been quite a discussion about this over on AVForums.
My setup consists at the moment of a home-built computer with about 6 hard drives holding my collection of music, either ripped from my own CDs, transferred from recordings of concerts, recitals, operas etc. All stored as flacs. The computer acts as a server via a wired Asus router to the HDS running Kodi, and connected by hdmi cable to a Marantz receiver, sr7008, and from there to an LG oled55c6v TV. Also included is a Panasonic HDR 4K blu-ray player, and a Dreambox satellite receiver. I have a very nice pair of Martin Logan electrostats as well.
I am a complete twerp when it comes to technical issues which aren't immediately obvious to the uninitiated. I've spent literally hours (probably days) trying to figure out how to solve problems, the latest being how to solve the problem of no connection between Kodi and the computer via the smb route. I did solve it, but only by luck. I didn't know what I was doing.
Look forward to getting acquainted with the Egreat a10 and the forum!
