Himedia Q10 4K 3D
« on: September 14, 2015, 09:19:03 AM »
Hi all,

Does anyone have issue in updating firmware.
I try updating the firmware however it failed to update.
The android logo will show up during the update then after a few second later the update will fail and it will go back to the himedia startup screen.
I purchase my Himedia box Q10 4k 3D from Futeko.
Thanks

I think I've replied to your email about this already this morning.

For the benefit of anyone else having this problem (and it's been relatively common!):

The firmware download is an archive containing the 'update.zip' file.

You need to use an unzip app (7zip, winzip etc) to extract the update.zip file to the USB stick.

If you just rename the download to 'update.zip then the Q5/Q10/M3 will not find a valid update file and reboot after a few seconds.

I can confirm I made the very same error, thinking the listed zip file name (with its firmware revision description as its file name) simply needed renamed to update.zip after downloading directly on the Himedia (Q5 in my case).

I realised myself the downloaded zip my 'contain' a further zip file...which proved to be the case when I took it to my PC.

As per the above post, once I extracted the update.zip file and went back to the Himedia Q5, it updated perfectly...takes a wee while so be patient :-)

Steve.
