Firmware
« on: November 15, 2017, 02:05:07 PM »
Hi i'm a new owner of Himedia q10 pro and i am noob about what firmware is best to use Original ,Custom or Android TV?
I'd like to watch movies from blueray folder or in mkv in particulary in 4k or full hd but i'd like to use youtube 4k or netflix 4k.
Can you help me to decide? Sorry for my bad english!!!!
Thanks

The simplest way is to use the official release and try custom firmware if there are issues with the official release. Android TV is not for the average user, in my opinion. Some apps are not compatible with Android TV and may have to be installed manually.

Where does it say that Netflix is working in UHD? Unfortunately, Q5/Q10 Pro do not have the required Widevine level to even have HD or fullHD. I think you can get Youtube 4K if the video allows it (in the mobile Youtube app or the Youtube TV version).

Yes, YouTube (I have YouTube for Android TV)  4k videos play perfectly at 3840x2160 on my Q10/Samsung UHD TV. I don't use Netflix so I have no idea about their 4K videos.
