There's no official frequency switching for KODI on HiMedia Boxes (and I guess neither on any Android Box), that makes HiPlayer the best choice you can get.
However you can install the unofficial freq patch for KODI, but as I have tested it rather behaves a little bit strange and suspicious way, so I would say rather not to do it. You also won't get HD sound at all and DD and DTS only with KODI 16.1 or with the so called "shitty" build, or with the latest CFW (fixed DD and DTS with KODI 17.4).
As for PQ, i guess KODI uses it's own engine, and I would say HiMedia Player does it better in overall...
