last kodi in q10, and power off when it hang
« on: August 23, 2015, 10:27:53 PM »
Hi, has anyone tested last version of kodi?, even 14.2 works fine, i wish to test the new options in 15.1.
For some strange reason when i play one particular movie (ok in my computer with w10) my q10 hangs, i can't do anything, any button don't work either in remote or frontal pad, my only option is the power plug, is that the best way?
Thanks a lot

Hi, I'm running Kodi 15.1 (with Q10 firmware 1.09) and all is good here.

If just Kodi hangs,  check it by pressing 'Home' on remote then 'Kodi' launcher icon again, if Kodi has hung the screen will be grey when it returns to Kodi. Then just press 'Home' again and then 'Task Management' and then 'Force Stop'. Relaunch Kodi and all should be normal. You can also enter 'Settings' > 'More' > 'Apps' and kill Kodi and clear it's cache there if you wish.

If it's the actual Q10 hung then I guess removing the power will be the only way to reset.

What type of file is it? Codec (e.g H.264, divX) + container (e.g MKV, avi)?

The mkv file info is:
Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x1080 23.976fps [V: CARPEDIEM [eng] (h264 high L4.1, yuv420p, 1920x1080) [default]]
Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz 6ch 640kbps [A: Spanish [spa] (ac3, 48000 Hz, 5.1, 640 kb/s) [default,forced]]
Audio: DTS 48000Hz 6ch 1536kbps [A: English [eng] (dts, 48000 Hz, 5.1, 1536 kb/s)]
Subtitle: UTF-8 [S: Spanish [spa] (srt) [default,forced]]
Subtitle: UTF-8 [S: Spanish [spa] (srt)]
Subtitle: UTF-8 [S: English [eng] (srt)]
Subtitle: UTF-8 [S: No subtitles]
When it hang, keys don't work, nothing to do with the remote .
Thanks, i will test today the new kodi

Nothing unusual about that file. It should work.

Hopefully 15.1 will fix it.

Thanks a lot, i can live with it,  i'm fully happy with my q10, with old player xtreamer 3d, crashes was very common, q10 is by far the best media player i have seen, if one movie crash, i can try to recode, is nothing to be care.
Installed Kodi 15.2  with no problem at all.

Good luck
