USB 3.0 On Back Panel

I just found that the USB 3.0 connector on the back panel is not function. I had tried to link up the +5V pins from the USB 3.0 connector on the side to that connector, I connect a USB HDD to the connector on the back then the HDD spin but signal is not through, of course the player can not detect It is a HDD connected. I believe this connector is just a dummy and not functioning at all. Is any one tried that? Also if Futeko know about it? I have problem if this connector don't work as my AVR is blocking the access of the USB 3.0 on the side.

Sorry, I missed it is a slave port.

Yes, it's a slave port for connecting to a PC.

The port at the back on the left side is a USB3.0 host port.

Yes, thank you. I got it.

But I don't understand why all the Chinese media player manufacturers put the peripheral slot on the side. If my desk area is tight. All units sit side by side each other. Then the side loaded ports are difficult to access. To fit the USB 3.0 host port on front panel is a more realistic design. I may need to modify this by myself. I can see the front panel module has some fixture designed to load a front USB connector.

Yes, works perfectly when plugged into a PC and acts as an external USB 3.0 HDD (when you have an internal HDD fitted, of course).  Fast file transfers  :D
