4K streaming read rate low 2.0.4

Hi,
What do i have to do to watch for example , Deepwater Horizon on kodi ? all other 4k movies i can play but a few i cant. I'm running Q5 updated to 204 and Kodi 17.3

Just installed 204 on my Q5 and when watching a 4k video on kodi, the film barely plays and gets stuck. I then get the mgs saying, Read rate to low for continues play back. How do i fix this ?

I don't know the solution, but:
Do you use the KODI Player or the HimediaPlayer (Wrapper) for playback?! Did you try them both?!

In My App->Wrapper->Set it to Wrapper Player. Than it will play the videos with HiPlayer in KODI.

Or: Media Center-> Browse your videos here and play.

Or: In KODI push a "long OK" on the video file, than under "Play using" select "Wrapper Player".

For clarity, what source are the playing the file from?

The source is from an addon within kodi builds. What is a bit strange is that before with 203 i had no issues with buffering. Now that i'm on 204 and same kodi + same build i'm having issues .

I thought it would be from add-ons. Streams (from internet) cannot be played with wrapper, so that's not a solution.

It's very strange that 2.0.3 had no problems but 2.0.4 does. They are similar.

My only suggestion (and you've probably done this already) is to disable Mediasurface (Surface) in Kodi. In Kodi, change settings level to Advanced and go Settings - Player - Videos - Allow hardware acceleration - Mediacodec (Surface): OFF.

Beyond that, I have reported the various reports of slower LAN performance in some apps to HiMedia, so they will be taking a look at it.

2.0.3 can be installed over 2.0.4 as usual using restore button method.

Up date, Just gone back to 203 and problems solved. Can watch 4K films on kodi without any any buffering at all. With 204  something was wrong as could not even watch a hd without it   saying,  Read rate to low for continues play back .
