Problems Q10 with AV and ARC
« on: June 20, 2017, 11:18:29 AM »
Hello everyone :

Recently I acquired an AV equipment Marantz NR 1607, when mounting it, from the beginning gave me a curious problem with the multimedia HIMEDIA Q10 (Updated) I owned:

As much as I had perfectly configured in my LG OLED the simplilink on and everything correctly in the Marantz, I could not get the sound of the TV to go through the AV, I did a thousand tests to the configuration, I changed the HDMI cable twice, but nothing Of nothing, the only thing is that when I connected the AV on the TV I was saying a message "HDMI ARC is now active"

Then everything was in theory correct but nothing.

By doing tests I turned on the HIMEDIA that I have connected to the AV in "multimedia", and what will not be my surprise that when switching to "TV sound" suddenly sounds perfectly the audio of the TV through the Home speakers through the AV.

I keep doing tests and I see that when the HIMEDIA is on, everything works perfectly, but when I turn it off and put it in standby, the sound goes to the internal speakers of the TV and everything goes bad.

I have disconnected the HDMI cable from the multimedia HIMEDIA and everything goes like silk, you perfectly hear the sound of the TV through the AV, and this turns on and off perfectly. It is to connect the multimedia HDMI and screw up the whole invention.

Yesterday I tried to connect the HIMEDIA directly to an HDMI of the TV, but when connecting to the TV, the Arc is turned off, it is as if the HIMEDIA when it is off cut the signal of the ARC, interferes in the same, auqnue is connected to another HDMI different.

I am beginning to believe that it is a total incompatibility of HIMEDIA, which has to be compulsorily imposed so that everything goes well.

You know how I can solve the matter, without dispensing with HIMEDIA and ARC obviously ????

Any help will be well received as I have been a few days with a major headache and I do not know what else to do.

Thank you

Either buy a HDMI adapter that strips CEC: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DL48KVI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Or cut pin 13 on the HDMI cable from Q10: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=166.msg1705#msg1705

I'll try to do that.

On the other hand it seems very strange to me, however and if it is solved the whole thing is welcome.

Thousands Thousands of Thanks

Hello :

It was just to inform you that after having tried yesterday, yes, with a lot of patience, I finally put a thin strip on the pin 13 and after several days of ignorance and headaches finally ......... WORK !!! !!!!.

I greatly appreciate your selfless dedication and above all your advice and solutions, it is really comforting to know that you have the disinterested support of a person who has nothing to do with the company (by the way HIMEDIA I bought it to you about 2 years ago ).

Thank you again for your response, which put me on the right track.

I encourage you to continue like this, you help us all a lot

Greetings and thank you

Should you include either solution in the box? Not acceptable that this issue is not addressed by Futeko.
