Does this have BD menu for UHD? Does it have any issue with HDR aspect ratio like Himedia Q10 Pro?
How do you compare the PQ with Q10 Pro? Thanks.

based on specs, its on realplayer chipset not hisilicon.

so hdr ratio issue should not be there.

however, i am still observing the firmware progress, whether the support will be better than himedia or not.

since its new device, expect some issue and require some update to fix the issue.

thanks.

It is new, but it's based on the same chipset and firmware as X9S, so firmware has had 6+ months of development already.

X10 does not have HDR aspect ratio bug.

I advise visiting Zidoo forum for firmware/bug info and the Kodi hardware forum for impartial views on PQ and performance.

Hello futeko,

Are these units shipped with the new enhanced remote? It seems Zidoo is replacing the old remote included in X9S and X10 with a new one, much better with backlight.

See this picture.

I'm thinking about purchasing a X10 through your Amazon account but I need to know this first.

Thanks.

All our X10 have the new remote. As below.

Also new packaging. The new packaging indicates new stock and new remote.

Ok, thank you for your fast reply. And are you selling the european version or the chinese one? What about plugs? In Spain we use european plugs, not the specific UK version.

Regards.

I don't think there is a 'Chinese' version, at least not that I'm aware of.

We sell stock intended for resale in Europe, acquired direct from Zidoo.

PSU type is 2-pin Europlug, as with everything we sell.

Although we are in the UK we sell more to rest of Europe. Plus, UK electrical safety standards require a fused PSU which products never have. So we add a fused fixed adapter Euro to UK for UK customers to meet British (BS) standards.

No, not from us. We have no spare remotes. Possibly in the future.

Futeko, I would like to make a last question and I think this question could be interesting for all X10 potential owners.

Since none of the best 3 media boxes you are selling right now (X10, Himedia Q10 Pro, Egreat A10) has a finished (and therefore, rock-solid) firmware, which box do you think has the least bad firmware? I've read big problems in this forum with fw. 2.0.3 for Q10 Pro (its users are angry), problems with Egreat firmware too in official forum (although to a lesser extent) and even problems in Zidoo forums with firmware 1.4.4 for Zidoo machines (X8, X9S, X10).

Thank you for your opinion.

Egreat and Zidoo have best current firmware. Both are stable and fully functional. Egreat's emphasis is on being a media player so it's interface is more suited to users wanting a simple and straightforward media browser and player. Zidoo's interface is more set up for multi-purpose use with different apps. So they are different products.

If the you visit manufacturer forums for any product (at least if they're not highly censored/controlled) you'll find customer complaining about missing features and bugs. It's inevitable.

It's to both Egreat and Zidoo's credit that they operate open forums and take customer feedback seriously.

HiMedia have let their firmware slip in 2017. The most recent update (2.0.3) was buggy and unstable. They have lost ground to other manufacturers. I hope they rectify this with the firmware due this week and a bigger SDK update due in July. Over the years HiMedia have always tended to have the best firmware, so I expect them to try and regain that position.

Could not have worded it better.  :)

Only one addition: For stability steer away from Beta releases for both Zidoo and Egreat. With the very large number of variables to be dealt with all media players clearly have problems adding new features.  That structural problem will only further increase with the many media formats still being added.  :(

Futeko, did you read this? This is a serious deal breaker for me. And it's a shame, because I'm almost sold. Keep in mind that X10 is almost identical to X9S, and therefore, this issue will be present on X10 too.

Sadly, there is no official word from Zidoo. Silence. And I've asked other questions and I've achieved the same: silence. Firmware support seems very good, but customer care is not good, at least in their forums.

I don't know if you have the needed skills (and tools) to perform those tests regarding color reproduction.

Thanks

I am following the thread, the gist of which seems to be that the Zidoo box has poor colour reproduction when not playing video.

It strikes me this would be a much more serious problem if it affected video playback. The tests on the thread show that Zidoo X10 reproduces colour with acceptable accuracy for video in all video apps tested (Zidoo mediaplayer, ZDMC/Kodi, Youtube, VLC etc).

I am sure Zidoo are working in the background to investigate the issue and will respond in full when they have a complete answer.
