« on: June 25, 2015, 02:30:00 PM »
Hi Guys,

I have a lot of interest in the Himedia Q5 mediaplayer i.c.w. Kodi en Netlfix but 1 question I have cannot find the answer: Is it possible to play HD 8) Netflix or is it only SD :'(

I want to order this player but without HD Netflix I will not buy it.

Thanks for the answers.

I know I must use the Android app so that's not the problem I only want to know if the app outputs HD or only SD.
For me it doesn't matter if it is HD @ 50 Hz, 60 Hz or 24 Hz

The standard Netflix Android app always outputs in SD. On all Android platforms. 480p.

It's a Netflix problem. By limiting their HD service to certain platforms (e.g. Apple / Google) it gives them some influence over the hardware providers. I doubt it will change.

unless an Android device is Google Widevine Level 1 certified, 720x480p is the Max resolution.

There are a whole bunch of detailed specific requirements, training etc that needs to be met as well to get certified.
https://www.widevine.com/getting_started.html

there is any plans to himedia ask certification?
On europe streaming web provider  become more and with good service.  ;)
