1. M3 interface is 720p. Q5/Q10 it can be switched to 720p or 1080p in display settings. Video on M3 plays at the correct resolution up to 1080p.
2. Not sure with the one file. A crackling sound might indicate a problem with how the audio is encoded or the M3 is not recognising the format immediately. In Settings - More - Sound try changing the HDMI Output setting to something other than auto. If you're using passthrough this may get rid of any problem caused by no immediate recognition of the format.
3. Some add-ons won't play nicely with himediawrapper. The default watched indicator doesn't work with the wrapper either. HiMedia know about it but it's more a bug/drawback of kodi, they need to fix the way media is marked as watched when using an external player. It's broken in kodi. In general where add-ons don't like the wrapper you can install a second instance of Kodi in the form of SPMC. http://spmc.semperpax.com/ So you'll have one Kodi with wrapper and one without for troublesome add-ons.
4. 3D ISO on the Q5/Q10 starts playing at 720p rather than 1080p so needs switching to 1080p each time. It might not be a big with the M3, which uses a different chipset and different base firmware.

1) M3 is Always 720p ? Why is that? If i knew that i would get the Q5 instead... since M3 plays video as well in 1080, you suspect differently in gui
Can you please make us able to switch to 1080 instead of 720.. covers look washed out on 90 inch screen..
Why was this chosen?

2)It is set to auto now indeed, but isnt this passthrough? How do i make sure it is set to passthrough?

3) Trakt is really important to me, it keeps auto track of what you watch and you can rate movies and stuff
a second kodi instance doenst help either , since you have to play the movie before its able to rate
and i need wrapper to play it so..
this trakt addon is differently from what kodi sets as watched..
Can you please look into it? Report it to himedia? They have a look?

4)Ah i see , well advantage then over Q5

1. M3 renders the interface at 720p. If you choose 1080p in settings it is upscaled. The output is whatever you set it to in settings and video is played at whatever you set it to in settings. I will talk to Himedia tomorrow about why the Q5/Q10 have a setting for changing interface resolution and M3 does not.

2. For HDMI passthrough the HDMI setting is best set to RAW. Then HBR degrade should be set to 5.1 or 7.1 depending on your setup.

3. I will report it.

Not yet, sorry. It's difficult sometimes talking to Himedia because of the time difference.

By 12pm tomorrow guaranteed.

Interface on M3 should be 1080p (or whatever resolution in main Android settings). Same as Q5/Q10. I have sent photos of the reported difference (720p vs 1080p) between Q10 and M3 in Kodi System Info and Himedia are passing it on to their engineering team.

There is no interface resolution switch in the later Q5/Q10 firmwares, I was wrong about that. Interface is always rendered at the main Android setting resolution.

If the M3 is set to 1080p then the actual output is always 1080p in Kodi regardless of what Kodi reports, so this problem could be just Kodi misreporting resolution?

For the trakt problem, exactly what should I install to replicate it?

Here's a pic of the 720p interface
Like i said, its hard to see it on pic, but in real life the covers lack sharpness

Any news from himedia about it?
How about the trakt addon?

Another question

I got beta 1 installed now, but beta 2 is out
(have mediawrapper installed too)

Can i just overwrite kodi? without touching wrapper, so that everything in kodi is not reset?
Or do i have to start over from rewriting firmware? :(

Installing a more recent version of Kodi 15 should leave both your library and himediawrapper intact.

I've just tested it going from 17/6 nightly to 22/6 nightly and that's how it worked here.
