ARCHOS have release open-source edition  of video player 

And yes, you read it right: a free and open-source edition of ARCHOS video player is now available on github: https://github.com/archos-sa/aos-AVP

Since parts of ARCHOS video player relies on contributions from the open source community, the idea of opening up the code base to a broader developer community came naturally to us.

This way, we think that we can make ARCHOS video player and technology available to a larger and stronger user base and benefit from new contributions, ideas and innovations that will bring up new usages and customer experiences.

Someone have problems with ne newest Q5 pro firmware and AVI files? I have some. I press play and nothing happened. Black screen.
And also...Subtiles doesn't work at all. Some are good. Some not

do you have enable "Android Media player" decoding ?

default OMX media codec support only: mpeg4, h263, h264, hevc, vp8 ,vp9.

Why do you very old  AVI fromat?

Why di YouTube use 2.0..4 ? instal last firmware, himedia firmware are very stable
