Hi,
I have just purchased a Q10 Pro and I think I like it except for disappointment with it's ISO playback functionality. I have a large backup collection of DVD ISO images that all play fine on my Asus O!Play TV Pro with good picture quality and give me the DVD menu. However, when played on the Q10 Pro media player I now have to decide whether to use Kodi's own built-in player or use the HiMedia wrapper. The problem with Kodi's own player is that despite having the DVD menu, the playback is very jittery and much lower quality. When using the wrapper I get great picture quality but no menu. I could perhaps live with this but the wrapper is not always able to play some of my DVD ISO images that play with Kodi's player albeit poorly, and just fine on the ASUS.
I know there have been posts about the Q10's ISO playing capability but is it known for certain if there is a pending firmware update to improve ISO playing? I'm asking this as I need to determine if the Q10 is fit for my purpose. I think it's a nicely built unit, and it certainly has good features, but for me, the ability to properly play ISO images is a must. That said, my old Asus player does not handle 3D MKV files with subtitles, and some BD ISO's are not always played back smoothly, both of which are handled great by the Q10. It seems I need both boxes, but this is not ideal, I was expecting the Q10 to replace the Asus.
Thanks.
