[Q10 Pro] File playback via network problem
« on: February 02, 2017, 07:51:52 PM »
Good evening.
I am in possession of the Q10 pro equipped with Android 5.1 system firmware 1.0.9 2016-12-13.091707.
For several days I noticed that when I turn on the media player, all file types go for a few seconds and then stop responding and then resume and then freeze again, and so on, obtaining a sequence in sobs.
I reinstalled again the same firmware by following the reset procedure, using the rear frets.

I'm doing several times to understand where the cause lies.
I want to point out that all the files I see them remotely, via LAN and modem router.
I noticed that the problem occurs when I turn off and turn on the player, this does not always happen, but it happens.
When it happens that the player begins to "sob", at the same time I tried to play via USB stick, which I had already loaded, the same files that are played normally.
I excluded the modem router and entered another switch, same problem.
Replaced lan cable, same problem.

I can solve the problem by switching it on and turning it off several times.
I do not know what to do

THANK YOU

What do you mean by 'sobs'? Sorry I don't understand and it's important to understanding the problem.

What app are you using for playback?

What type of network share is it?

Is this literally with all files or just some? If

it's just some (e.g. high bitrate 4K with ATMOS soundtrack) then it might conceivably be a network bandwidth problem but if it's with all files with all apps then there could be something more seriously wrong, probably hardware.

For "sobs", I mean that the image stops then proceed for a few seconds and stops again.

Files are shared with the HDD of my computer with Windows 10.
I tried both with fixed IP address or dynamic, got same problems.
The player is the Wrapper (Himediavideoplayer).

The connection is lossless.
The SMB protocol is used.

I confirm also under the KODI interface
I want to point out that to restore normal operation, I have to turn off and on several times doing to boot.
Or you just detach and reconnect the network cable.

I also made the firmware regression up to version 1.03, and I encountered the same problems.
I ask if there are other people are the only one to have networked the player to read the files in the PC and have had the same problems.
I carried out the restoration of the firmware via USB support, by pressing the back button and the power button on the remote control.
The problem is encountered on all files.

Thanks

I don't think you'll get too many other users reporting the problem or I'd have heard about it / it would be all over the forum.

If you get the same problem with all firmwares then I think it's a network bandwidth problem. You didn't say whether it's literally all files, or just those of a specific type (likely high bitrate)? Also, is the Q10 Pro connected by wifi or ethernet?

This certainly sounds like a video buffering issue.
To prove it is network related and not the player, plug in a USB hard drive with same files and see how they play?  If no buffering you will need to re-check the LAN Ethernet cables (have you swapped them over?) and speed of your network.  How long is the LAN cable from the router to the Q10Pro?
Run LAN Speed Test and see how fast your connection is?  http://www.totusoft.com/lanspeed1

Can you move the Windows 10 PC into the same room as the Q10 and see if a short cable fixes your problems?

Good morning.
USB playback is played back without any problems.
Lan Speed Test I performed the test with 100MB file.

free image upload

Today, thanks to a friend of mine I could try another copy of HiMedia Q10, I made the switch on and off more than ten times and has always played the files without any problems.
Even propagated the Bit Rate Test File "jellyfish-180-mbps-4k-uhd-HEVC-10bit" with maximum fluidity.
My conclusion is that the network interface of my specimen is to have some problems.

Thank you

Thanks, I already done by another vendor for the service rendered.
However it is a great product better than a HTPC I've owned for years.

I am experiencing the same issue - spent forever trying to solve it till I read this posting. My video freezes or just starts to be staggered. If i hit pause and then play again it works fine for about 10 seconds

Thanks for saving me a few more hours trying to work this out

Not necessarily for you, but for other user reading this in future, a stuttering problem like this is much more likely to be a problem with your network being unable to consistently deliver the bandwidth required for demanding (4K, 7.1 audio etc) video. Please test raw file copy over LAN first (see a couple of posts back) to check that your network is able to deliver sufficient bandwidth (100Mbps+ is sometimes required for 4K).
