Yes it works. I've used it to download several purchased movies from Amazon to my q10.

The instructions are here http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/video/splash/sd/t/appstore

Yes I see what you mean. They've removed access to "Unknown Sources" in the Android settings! But I didn't have any problems installing the Amazon apps. Did the installation fail for you?

Can you try it again after setting the "Unknown Sources" option in Kodi Settings > System settings > Add-ons > Unknown Sources
It may have the same effect????

The Amazon app works on Android 5.1 firmware but not yet on Android 7.

I can install apps from unknown sources without changing any settings on both 2.0.1 and 1.0.9 firmwares.

That is what happens on Android 7 fw 2.0.1. It works normally on Android 5.1 fw 1.0.9.

A couple of other points. The Amazon app fails when I stream videos from Amazon or try to play downloaded movies. The movies that I downloaded from Amazon previously were no longer found on the q10. I had to download them again. Was this because of the upgrade to HMD-2.0.1??

There is no problem with Google Play movies though  :) . I can stream these videos from Google or play downloaded copies on the q10. Although again, the movies that I downloaded from Google previously were no longer found on the q10.

Back to Amazon. The options seem to be that I buy digital copies of the movie and download a compressed version to "somewhere" on my q10 box, in a form which is inaccessible, so I then have to view it with Amazon's own app (assuming that it can be fixed) but cannot add it to my Kodi collection!
Or I can buy a physical DVD/Blue Ray and get it delivered next day with Prime. I can then make a lossless ISO copy of the disk and move it to my q10 where it will be added to my Kodi collection. I think it's obvious what I'll be doing from now on! The same applies to music. I want lossless FLAC files not the inferior MP3 files which is all that Amazon currently offer as downloads.

Why are Ancestry so precious about their digital downloads?
