The space problem has always been there with Q5/Q10 Pro firmware, it's not been introduced with this update.
I must beg to differ with you the space issue IS introduced with this update, shares with spaces work fine with Android 5.1 but do not with Android 7.
I have removed the space in the shared folder name and it maps perfectly in Android 7, the share mapped with its space in 5.1 the problem occurred when I upgraded to 7, seems like a backward step in version 7.
@parisno, it's of little consolation to me either. Your problem might not be typical but you're not alone. The difficulty could be due to any number of combinations of router/PC hardware/Windows version/firewall. There IS a difference in the way sharing is handled between V1/Android 5 and V2/Android 7, it just doesn't affect many people. Fortunately, HiMedia is still supporting the Android 5 version, which in itself is interesting as one has to ask the question, "Why? What is wrong with the newer version that they still need to support the older one?"
Edit: followed Futeko's advice and installed Android 5.1 v1.09. Looks ok so far, thanks.
I have upgraded to Android 7, thanks to your suggestion regarding the spaces, I did not consider it as I thought that problem went out the window with long filenames and DOS, it would seem Android have re-introduced it somewhere between version 5.1 and 7. My only problem now is Amazon Video, but I guess that is a problem with the apps compatibility with Android 7 and something for Amazon to look at. Anyways thanks for the help, hope you get your issues sorted out soon.
