Hi all,

I can't see the mediaplayer on my PC Explorer  (win 10, Group Name: WORKGROUP)

How can I copy Media Content over the Network (from my PC) to the Mediaplayer HDD'?

Thanks!!

type:-

\\xxx.xxx.xx.xx\share     ( the x`s being the ip address of your Q10 pro) into your address bar.
This should open up your share then navigate to the    media_rw    folder, in here you will find the hdd`s you have mounted.

Q5/Q10 Pro should be visible without any additional settings on Windows 10 if Windows 10 workgroup name is 'WORKGROUP'.

So just run Windows 10 File Explorer and you should see 'ANDROID_C074C' (or similar) in left pane.

You can then navigate the whole of Q5/Q10 Pro's home folder, including (as already said) attached storage at /media_rw/

This was not the case for me (even with  a workgroup set up) and the only way was the method I described.

It works for me with Q5 Pro and Windows 10. I don't use Windows usually so I specifically tested it for this thread.

I think it works for most people too, otherwise there would be more feedback about it on forum.

Why your Windows 10 won't auto discover the share I do not know. There's probably a Windows setting somewhere that needs changing, but I am not a Windows expert.

Also recommend checking your anti-virus and any firewall settings to ensure the HiMedia's IP address is accessible (and visible) on your network.

Under Windows 10, I simply click on File Explorer "Network" and as well as my NAS drives, Seagate Centrals and other PC's it shows "Android_B927C".
Clicking on that will then find the "Share" and the internal "Media" drive will be fully accessible.

Also recommend installing the Patch from this forum for Samba Optimisation:  http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1479.0
It increases the speed of file transfers nicely   ;D

Same here.
I have Q10 Pro fw 109, Win7 x64 and it used to work fine ,but after a fw update it's not there anymore.
Any tips on how to get it back. It used to show up under the Network foldertree along with my PC.
I could access both the internal drive and the USB drive from there.

I never had any issues either (Windows 8.1, Q10 Pro). Can you ping its IP?

Hello,

Firewall and AV OK, but did you enable discovery and home network sharing in Windows too ?

Maybe the problem is there

Good luck

Try entering \\192.168.x.xx in the Windows explorer entry box where the IP is your media box address.

Yes, there should be one. This is how you get to that option. I believe you must have Windows 7 SP1 to see it http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/5023-windows-features-turn-off.html.
