Subtitle display issue (commands are visible)
« on: January 05, 2017, 09:46:35 AM »
Hello,

When there is </i> and <i> sign in the beginning and at the end of the sentence, Kodi player can display the subtitle italic, but wrapper can not do so. It displays these signs on the screen. Can wrapper be skillful as kodi player about this matter?

Open in Subtitle Workshop 6.0b, select all subtitles (CTRL + A), right-click to will get a pop-up menu and remove all tags.

Playing directly from mediacenter also shows the itallic command </i> on screen just like playing from kodi using wrapper. Playing from kodi player shows subs in real itallic mode. This looks like a shortcoming in the mediacenter player.
@Futeko, is this a known error in the mediacenter player?

Archos video player show subs in real italic mode too.
Just found out that if you uninstall wrapper Archos will pass through all DTS perfectly.
For me that issue is solved for now

What HiMedia fw do you use? Do you use Archos free edition? Do you have all codes installed for it? Please elaborate.  :)

Edit:
In the meantime I successfully get MX Player to passthrough audio to my receiver as well.

@ Futeko, is it a bug or shortcoming in the Q10 mediacenter player not showing italic tekst and can this be fixed? I have this issue also with my q10 on latest android 7 firmware.

Can someone please post a link to a sample where italic subs show the <i> and </i> tags?

I have tried a few samples and I don't see the tags. HiMediaplayer doesn't show italic text, but it strips out the tags.

I have tried a few samples and I don't see the tags. HiMediaplayer doesn't show italic text, but it strips out the tags.

I tested it with a recent mkv movie. The embedded subs showed the < /i> but the downloaded external subs did not showed this. The external subs contained the italic start and end tags, and HiMedia player striped them indeed all out!
So those errors occurs due to errors in the embedded subs.
