Viper4Android on Q10 Pro?
« on: January 02, 2017, 06:32:38 PM »
Has anyone tried installing this application? Says root & a custom recovery are required. I have root access (be aware this voids your device's warranty) & tried using the stock recovery method to install by renaming it to update.zip like other .zip patches but no dice. Afaik there is custom twrp or cwm for this device. Any ideas?

Answering my own question since I discovered a solution. Without a custom recovery (like TWRP or CWM) you have to use one of the Android apps for flashing .zip files, like Flashify, Rashr, or Flashfire. I used the latter & it worked a treat. Didn't try the others but believe they would also work.

No indication FF was working but Q10 rebooted & upon restarting Viper4Android shows up as an installed app w/audio driver already installed. Keep in mind this is only for rooted devices (& rooting voids warranty).

Glad you got it working but I would emphasise that flashing zip files in this way is risky and will definitely invalidate warranty.

Why would you root the device? What advantages are there?
