PCM/DD/DTS
« on: December 30, 2016, 12:41:13 PM »
Hi all,
I am having major probs since I updated to the new f/w in regards to what audio I get and which player to use.
TV shows and Movies are added from the files menu but when I go to play something the following happens;
Movie will play in DD, Atmos or whatever is the top audio track. Then when I go to TV Shows it only plays in PCM (They are all DD tho)
Other times it is the other way around? or I get the cant play because the external player is active? or I may get mount failed on tv shows?

I am at a serious loss as to what I have done wrong. I know there is prob not enough info here to narrow it down, but if I can have any assistance / advice I would be most grateful.
thanks all.

Yes I also had same issue with new firmware 1.0.9 and got frustrated and revert back to fw 1.0.8 and my movies/tv shows works fine and getting DD audio. I think you may need to try SPMC (old) version for some files, i m not sure very why its not working with SPMC new versions or Kodi.

I will upgrade fw only if someone finds any solution in the new fw version 1.0.9.

Can people having this problem please clarify where / when it occurs?

Kodi internal dvdplayer / Himediaplayer?
What Android / firmware version?
What version of Kodi?

Q10 FW: 2.0.0
Kodi 17
No DTS / DD sound
Laggy picture, loss of frames, struggle with buffering

Q10FW 2.0.0.
Internal Himedia player/center
Full  DTS/DD sound
No loss of frames, excellent picture quality, no buffering.

Try Kodi 16.1.

Kodi 17 for Android is a bit of a car crash so far..

Or, for local/LAN streaming using either Kodi 16.1 or 17 and wrapper. The big problems with Kodi 17 are in it's playback, as a media browser using Himediaplayer for playback it's not bad.

I don't know if it is firmware problem or not, but when I try to play movies I'm not hearing anything but apps like youtube or Spotify work well.

to hear audio playing movies I've to keep changing audio tracks, fast forward, backward, etc. until Kodi or native media player decide to play audio well

I have 1.09 and play audio through hdmi in auto option selected

Yamaha rx-a850 receiver with 5.1 speakers

Try changing all audio settings (HDMI and HBR) in HiMedia to RAW rather than auto.
