IMPORTANT! THIS FIRMWARE IS FOR EUROPEAN Q10 4K3D (MANUFACTURED AFTER NOVEMBER 2014) ONLY. DO NOT TRY AND FLASH IT TO OTHER REGION Q10 4K3D.

Installation Instructions:

1. Extract update.zip to the root of a USB pen drive (so the USB pen drive should contain a single file named update.zip).
2. Insert the USB pen drive into any USB port of the Q10 4K3D.
3. With the Q10 4K3D turned off, use a paper clip or pen to press and hold the the pinhole restore button on the back of the Q10 4K3D.
4. While keeping the restore button pressed, turn on the Q10 4K3D.
5. Keep the restore button pressed until you see an Android droid logo.
6. Release the button and the firmware upgrade will proceed.
7. The box will auto-reboot when finished.

The update to 1.0.9 is a completely wipe and reinstall of the box. There is no other way to upgrade.

I've tested the F10 Pro and you're correct about the speaker output problem. I have notified Himedia and we'll see what they can do. This has been an issue for other boxes (notably MiniX) and has been resolved by restoring audio output options in settings - sound. I expect the same came be done here.

Did the update definitely complete? What does it say in Settings - About - Build number?

All our updates will completely wipe the box and start from scratch.

Have you used the upgrade option under settings and then selected and used the firmware file?

Recently upgraded to the new firmware only to find that the HIMEDIA PLAYER resolution now defaults to 720p when playing (frame packing) 3D Movies at 1080p source..

It can be corrected once playing by changing to 2D mode then changing back to 3D mode (it then picks up the correct Resolution at 1080P) just  a real pain to keep changing for every movie (3D) watched..

Note that all normal 2D movies either 1080 or 720p play at there correct source resolutions so it only seems to be the 3D movies !!

I am sure that the 1.0.9 update, as supplied by us, wipes the box and reinstalls everything. This appears to be the experience of everyone else also.

My only thought is that you might have installed an update from elsewhere?

This is a known bug and Himedia are working on it. It will be fixed soon.

Build number for our 1.0.9 Q10 firmware should be HMD-1.0.9 2015-05-18.131523.

So you've not updated to 1.0.9..

Please have  another go. Follow the instructions in the first post of this thread carefully. The most important thing is that the update.zip file from inside the firmware download archive should be copied to the USB flash drive as is. So the USB flash drive should contain only one file, 'update.zip'.
